As chapters accumulate, small differences become harder to spot. Keep a style sheet for spelling of names, key terms, preferred capitalization, number style and recurring phrases. Include decisions about scripture references or specialized terminology when they are relevant to the book’s audience.
Update the sheet during drafting and share it with editors and designers. It saves repeated queries, makes revisions more consistent and gives the final proofread a reliable reference. Consistency should support meaning, not erase the author’s natural voice or intentional variation.
